Who we are

We are a registered association aiming for the integration of foreign women and German newcomers in the region of Braunschweig. Thus we offer support and orientation in daily life and the German culture to the not working partners and children of families that have moved to the region due to their partners career. All members of the association communicate in English language.

What we offer

Foundation of the Association

A perfect integration is key for the complete satisfaction of Expatriate and their families taking on an assignment abroad. If integration problems occur it may happen that specialists and executive staff have to bring contracts to an end earlier than planned and go back home.

Anne Rangette, Marianne Wandt and Maria Cáceres experienced this with their work in the relocation service area. Based on that the three ladies decided to help concerned families. This was the hour of birth of the „International Women’s Association Region Braunschweig e.V.“.

On the official foundation, the 30th of May 2006, eleven women from eight nations established the association.

The idea is to support spouses and families of expatriates coming on an work assignment into the Braunschweig region. In the long term a network between the members should be build.

Primarily the spouses and families benefit from the activities of the IWA-BS. Secondly also the employers of the expatriates. This is because the specialists can concentrate on work and he/she knows their families have support with the integration. This also makes the region of Braunschweig more attractive for specialists and executive staff from abroad.

After 4 years the „International Women’s Association Region Braunschweig e.V.“ has more than 90 members.
